Fox Mulder
Born on the 13th of October 1961 in Massachusetts, New England, to William (Bill) and Tina Mulder (both deceased by the series end), along with his sister Samantha, who he believed was abducted by aliens when he was twelve. It was her disappearance that fueled his ongoing quest to find the truth about extraterrestrials. In 1990, he found The X-Files. Three years later, he gained a partner; Dana Scully.

Dana Scully
Born on the 23rd of February 1964 to William (deceased in season 1) and Margaret Scully. Following her undergraduate degree Scully qualified as a medical doctor and completed a residency in forensic pathology. While her father thought she should've become a doctor, she thought she could do more in with the FBI. She's assigned to The X-Files to report on Agent Mulder's work but instead became his greatest ally.

Mulder & Scully
At the start of the series, we see two completely different people; one a believer and one a skeptic. Scully's first assigned to the X-Files to debunct Mulder's work but soon becomes his biggest asset. A friendship builds as time passes and soon they're more than just partners. You see how they care about each other and you get to watch them evolve. For the most part, their relationship was not one of the romantic sense, but still one of love. Many fans were waiting for them to hook up, but for seasons, Chris Carter teased us. But in the end, they were all they needed.
